Equipment
Ablatio employs the latest technology in
sandstone extraction and sandstone processing.
Commencing with
extraction, Ablatio
employs a 2.8m diamond blade saw to cross-cut the sandstone
and a diamond wire saw to undercut the blocks. They
are then removed by another excavator where the blocks are graded
by colour and quality. The
blocks are further processed
at the quarry or sold
by the m3 to
overseas processing operations. Blocks processed on site
are processed by two computer controlled Pellegrini diamond wire saws.
Allow your imagination
to work overtime on
design and shapes. If we can draw the design on screen, the
saw can cut the design. The shape is then further defined
with
the finishing touch
by our experienced and qualified Banker Masons. Not all shapes require
the attention
of the masons as the profile cut by the saw is all that is required
in some instances.
The
off-cuts from the profiling and broken stone are turned
into landscape product as tumbled pebbles, split block/garden
edging and random paving.
Ablatio also processes landscape
product using our blade saw, hydrosplit and trommell. The
hydrosplit is a hydraulic operated guillotine for splitting stone
and the trommell is a tumbler
that tumbles the
sandstone pebbles, while washing and grading the pebbles
into consistent sizing.
As in most quarry operations, Ablatio employs
bobcats (skid loader) and a 5m3 loader
that can be fitted with forks. The loader is also fitted with
scales so that, when loading trucks, the weight is calculated
accurately, ensuring that
the truck
is never overloaded and the customer is invoiced accurately for
what is received.
